We are offering an exciting opportunity to join a small but innovative Elections team working across West Suffolk councils. The team is responsible for providing efficient and effective administration of the electoral registration and election processes.

You will be responsible for managing a busy electoral services team in ensuring the successful delivery of the electoral registration and elections services at West Suffolk councils. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the team and will assist the Electoral Services Manager in ensuring that the service is delivered efficiently, accurately and timely whilst meeting all statutory and procedural requirements.

Some supervisory experience would be an advantage. You will be expected to complete the AEA (Association of Electoral Administrators) foundation and certificate courses.

You will be advising and assisting members of the public, parish clerks and councillors, both in person and by phone and will need good communication skills and proven experience of dealing with the public. Good ICT and keyboard skills with experience of everyday IT packages is essential.

Excellent organisational skills and working with precision and speed are essential as is the ability to use your own initiative and solve problems, prioritise work load and meet deadlines. You will need to be a great team player to deliver the much-increased workload during election periods.

Experience of working within elections is not necessary as training will be provided.
