Employer: London Borough of Croydon
Salary: £30,585- £31,557
Closing Date: 30 January 2022
It is an exciting time to join Croydon council and if you are interested in making a positive difference to our residents and our borough, then we look forward to receiving your application.
About the role
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our small, busy Electoral Services team based in Croydon Town Hall. We are a high profile and respected service responsible for delivering all statutory electoral processes including elections, electoral registration and the publication and distribution of the electoral register.
It is a particularly interesting time to join the Electoral Services team with the first election of a Mayor of Croydon taking place in May this year.
Previous experience of working in electoral services during an election period and/or experience of maintaining the electoral register is required. The AEA Certificate of Electoral Administration qualification is desirable, but not essential.
The successful candidate will be required to work with a high level of accuracy and demonstrate initiative and resilience in order to work under pressure to meet statutory deadlines. You will be expected to be an integral part of the team and have a willingness to work to tight deadlines. You will need to be flexible, proactive and have experience and understanding of elections processes with excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will need a high level of IT literacy, and experience using Xpress electoral management software would be desirable.
You must be flexible in your day to day working and be prepared to work extended hours, including weekends, bank holidays and evenings when required, especially at the time of the annual canvass and in the period leading up to elections. Annual leave may be restricted during busy periods.
Closing date for applications is 30 January 11:59pm and we anticipate that interviews will be held on Thursday 3 February 2022.
If you would like to discuss the role further, please contact, Julie Carter, Deputy Electoral Services Manager firstname.lastname@example.org.
