The Conservatives were denied an outright majority at the last general election because of a voting system which is slanted in favour of the Labour party, new analysis has shown. The new figures reveal that the Tories would have been left with a clear majority of 14 if the boundary reforms – which have been frustrated by Labour and the Liberal Democrats – had been in place.
