Asked by Gerald Thomas, Shadow Minister (Defence): What recent assessment has he made of the potential merits of reducing the voting age to 16?

Answered by the Minister, Chris Skidmore: The Government have stated in their manifesto a clear commitment to maintain the voting age of 18, and therefore the Government have no plans to lower the voting age in elections.
