Jobs in Electoral Services
Go to list of job vacancies currently advertised in the public area
Electoral administration occupies a unique position within the framework of local government. Legally, Electoral Registration Officers (responsible for maintenance of electoral registers) and Returning Officers (responsible for administration of elections) are entirely separate entities from local authorities and their respective duties are prescribed by legislation. In the execution of their statutory obligations, those officers are not answerable to local authorities, despite having been appointed by them. This is an indication of the importance of electoral services which are provided throughout the UK by dedicated and highly professional administrators.
Working in such a specialised field can be very rewarding but demands high levels of accuracy, determination and a willingness and the ability to get a job done within set time scales.
As part of an exercise to procure information for the "jobs4u" careers database, the AEA liased with the Department for Education and Skills, resulting in the articles available to read here.

Job advertisement request form
To submit an order to place advertisements, you will need to complete an online request form which can be accessed HERE, but please read all the information in this section before proceeding to that step.
It is very important that all relevant information is provided on the request form at the outset to avoid any unnecessary delay in publication of the advertisement; in fact, many of the form fields are required to be completed and you will not be able to submit the form without filling them in. Also, advertisements will normally appear on the website on the day of receipt by the Website Manager unless a specific publication date is requested.
As well as appearing on the website, a link to the advertisement is included in the weekly newsletter which is accessible via the website to all Members of the Association, of which there are currently in excess of 1,600.
If you are applying for a job, please mention that you saw the vacancy advertised on this site.
If there are any jobs currently being advertised in the area of the website accessible to the public, they are listed below.
