Annual Conferences and Seminar
The Association's main Annual Conference is the highlight of its year. Usually held in February, it commences on a Sunday and is brought to a close at lunchtime on the following Wednesday by its Annual General Meeting.
As mentioned elsewhere on this site, one of the great assets of the AEA is the network of contacts which has been forged and developed all over the country with the positive benefit that help is never more than a telephone call or a mouse-click away. Members are able to reap the benefit of this networking in person at Conference and also profit from the extensive programme of plenary sessions and more intimate practical workshops.

September 2005 saw the start of a new venture for the AEA, when its first One-day National Seminar - "Free and fair elections in the UK: reality or myth?" - was held at the Madejski Stadium in Reading. This proved to be a great success and has become an annual event. In 2006, the second - "Electoral Administration: Delivering the Vision" - was staged at the Hilton, Coventry, and once more proved a resounding success. The 2007 event - "Electoral Administration: Where Now?" - was again held at the Hilton, Coventry, and was well-attended once more. The 2008 Seminar - "How are electoral services measuring up?" - is being held at the Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire.
